Neck Pain

Neck pain may result from abnormalities in the soft tissues-the muscles, ligaments, and nerves-as well as in bones and joints of the spine. The most common causes of neck pain are soft-tissue abnormalities due to injury or prolonged wear and tear. In some people, neck problems may be the source of pain in the upper back, shoulders, or arms.

Back Pain

Almost everyone will experience low back pain at some point in their lives. This pain can vary from mild to severe. It can be short-lived or long-lasting.

Treatment for low back pain focuses on relieving your symptoms. In many cases, a combination of treatments will help you to return to all the activities you want to do.

Patients with spinal pain are regularly seen in Mr Malik's clinics.

A detailed history and examination is taken.

Investigations such as MRI scans, CT scans or X rays are often indicated. Less often blood tests may be required to rule out less common causes of spinal pain.

Treatment Offered

Injections are performed with the use of local anaesthetic pain relief to numb the areas to be injected.

The above types of treatment can be very effective in relieving spinal and associated nerve pain.

If more invasive treatment such as surgery may be required, referral can be made to colleagues who perform spinal surgery.
